Skillet Salpicado

Skillet Salpicado

Regular price $17.50

In Metepec, Estado de México, just outside of Toluca there is a family of artisans who create these unique & eye-catching pieces. They apply innovative techniques to traditional Mexican forms, resulting in fun & functional items like this 8" skillet.

This style is called "salpicado" because it looks like they just splashed the paint on the pan. What they actually do is a sequence of dips by hand, with every piece receiving its own distinct pattern.
